Many carbon initiatives pose human rights risks. Within such as PACM, these risks must be addressed. The discussion will look at how definitions of what we mean by “communities” influence the rights of the people affected and how context-specific definitions of “communities” are needed. Speakers: The event will feature civil society and community representatives from Africa, Asia and South America and researchers who share insights on how the definition of “communities” affects how communities experience carbon market initiatives from a human rights perspective. Followed by a discussion.
