Türkiye has created a free electronic COP31 Visa for every registered participant. You apply on the official e-Visa platform once your registration is confirmed.
The visa is multiple entry, valid from 1 to 30 November 2026, for a stay of up to 30 days. Applications go through evisa.gov.tr: register, upload a passport-size photo, fill in the form, and download the visa once it is approved. The presidency says visas are issued within seven working days, so apply as soon as your registration is confirmed.
If your nationality does not normally need a visa for Türkiye, the presidency still advises applying, on a voluntary basis, to get an official COP31 document. Your passport must be valid for at least 90 days after you arrive, and Turkish rules require valid travel insurance, which border officers may ask to see.
The COP31 Visa is only for registered participants. People travelling for the alone, or accompanying a participant, follow the normal Turkish entry rules for their nationality. Visa questions go to visas@unfccc.int.
